Course Description

This programme provides participants with practical knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework governing franchising in Malaysia, including franchise registration requirements, intellectual property protection, and competition law considerations. Participants will learn the key provisions of the Franchise Act 1998, franchise registration procedures, statutory obligations, offences under the Act, trademark and intellectual property protection, confidentiality requirements, and legal relationships within franchise systems. The programme also focuses on compliance management, legal risk awareness, and the importance of intellectual property and competition law in supporting sustainable franchise development. Upon completion, participants will be able to understand franchise regulatory requirements, identify key legal obligations, appreciate intellectual property protection mechanisms, and apply legal considerations in franchise business operations.
